Spiritual Wing

The Spiritual wing of Merton Sai Centre forms the foundation for achieving the objective of the Organization, namely, helping the spiritual aspirant realize the inherent Divinity. Faith in and devotion to God, forms the basis for the activities of the Spiritual wing. The activities of the Spiritual Wing help us to travel comfortably in our journey from I to We to He. An individual spiritual aspirant can progress much faster in his or her journey to Divinity, when he or she travels with fellow aspirants.

Spiritual transformation calls for changing the mind from a prisoner of the three qualities (Gunas) to one that is bound to God. You have to acquire the firm conviction that the Divine is the basis and Sustainer of the Universe.” – Sri Sathya Sai Baba

Devotional Singing

Wherever my devotees sing My glory, Oh Naaradha, there I manifest Myself ” – One of Swami’s favourite quotations from the Bhagavat Gita.

The objective of bhajan singing is to make us conscious, or aware, of the Omnipresence of the Lord. Therefore, whenever you are participating in a group bhajan, do so with the same devotional fervour and reverence as you would do while singing bhajans at Prashanthi Nilayam in the physical presence of Baba.

Baba, although unseen by your physical sight, is present at each and every bhajan session, seated on the chair placed for Him or moving among the devotees. We must cultivate this feeling of His presence at every group bhajan or home bhajan. Swami Himself has said “perform bhajan as though I am physically present.” If we keep this in mind, every bhajan will truly be an appointment with God.

There are 2 weekly group bhajans conducted by the Merton Sai Centre at the Mandir.

  • Sundays from 3.00pm to 4.00pm
  • Thursdays from 6.45pm to 8.00pm

The Sunday group bhajans are led by either SSE children, adults or youth as indicated below.

  • SSE Children – 1st Sunday of the Month
  • Adults – 2nd Sunday of the Month
  • Youth – 3rd Sunday of the Month
